CLIO Floral Tea Garden Collection 2023SS.

CLIO Floral Tea Garden Collection is one of CLIO's most recent collection that was released for Spring & I believe is only available in Korea.

CLIO Professional is a Korean cosmetic brand founded in 1993 that specializes in colour tones. CLIO came from a name of a Greek muse who symbolizes History & Honor, the brand was created to celebrate Women who challenge the "New Me" through makeup and make their life history wonderful. CLIO's philosophy of "Practical Professional" providing easy-use products but excellent performance. Other than CLIO Professional, CLIO Cosmetics also has several other brands under their umbrella such as Peripera, Goodal, Healing Bird, DERMATORY, A.Black & Twinkle Pop.

CLIO Professional has won several awards in the past recent years, which include Best Cushion Foundation & Best Foundation in Powder Room Beauty Awards 2022, 1st Place for Best Mascara/Eyeliner & 1st Place for Base Makeup in 2021 Olive Young Awards.

In this Floral Tea Garden collection CLIO released x1 10pan Eyeshadow Palette, x5 Glossy Lip Tints shades, & x1 Limited Edition Cushion Foundation.

I would classify them as an affordable brand where their prices are similar or comparable to Western/Asian drug store (Etude House / Rom&nd / Peripera) but some of their formula's are similar to middle range Korean products. If you want to know more on this Cosmetic brand and some of their products keep reading!

Concept & Packaging :

CLIO's Floral Tea Garden Collection is such a pretty, romantic & dreamy collection, CLIO to me has always done a wonderful job curating collections & this is no exception. The theme of this collection is centered around everything floral from the colour scheme to the names selection packaging and even scents, CLIO has really emulated Spring with this Floral Tea Garden Collection.

The collection has a very muted but also a romantic vibe, mainly focusing on pinks, mauve & plum tones. And the element of clear plastic / transparency gives a elegant element as if looking through a glass tea pot. The entire collection is also embellished with floral elements that follow suit with the entire scheme and gives it a very nice feminine touch. To me CLIO has always done a great job at curating collections and puts alot of thought & details into creating a cohesive collection.

Products :

The images below are some of the products I purchased from the Collection/Brand.

Pro Eyes Palette (#18 Floral Tea Garden). CLIO released a x1 10pan eyeshadow palette for this collaboration. The shades in the palette range from pretty lilac/lavender shades to deep plum shades. The palette also has some nice neutral beige & brown shades as well. The palette consist of many different types of formulas ranging from x4 Mattes, x1 Matte Glitter, x1 Shimmer, x3 Shimmer Glitter and x1 True Glitter that all have their different formulas.

The formula of the Mattes are super soft and silky but is also very powdery/chalky at the same time. The mattes has quite abit of kickback using a brush and majority of pigmentation is not bad but the colours do need to be built up. The lighter shades are lackluster for me in pigment and did not really suit my skintone well, as some are very close to my natural skintone. The mattes blended well but I felt the colour payoff was just not up to par with even some of the the other K-Beauty palettes I own from other brands.

The Shimmer shade Soft Cloud (Top Row) is soft and silky but also very powdery at the same time. The shade has tiny micro glitters along with a base sheen to the formula. The pigment is sheer but the shades can be layered & built-up for a nice natural shine. The shimmer shades in my opinion are applied best with finger tips.

The formula of the Matte Glitter shade Flower Letter (Top Row) has the same base formula as the matte shades just with added scattered micro glitter combined. The pigmentation is very sheer and the glitter shades just fly everywhere when you try to buff the colour in. This kind of formula is my least favourite just because it somewhat always becomes a hot mess with tons of glitter fallout.

The Glitter shade Blooming True (Bottom Row) is stiff and has a gritty texture. The glitter shade has a lot of micro & big chunky dual-chrome glitters scattered within the transparent base formula. The glitters formula is definitely more of a topper shade that gives a magical effect to the lids. The formula layers & adheres well and is best applied with fingertips than a brush.

The Shimmer Glitter shades Dazzling Moment, Signal Scent (Top Row) & Lavender Haze (Bottom Row) are all soft and silky feel to them. All shades have tiny micro glitters scattered compactly together creating a base to the formula. The pigment is sheer but the shades can be layered & built-up for a nice shine. The shimmer glitter shades in my opinion are applied best with finger tips.

Honestly I do really like the all the shades and find the palette to be very versatile but just wasn't up tp my expectations. The pigmentation was really lackluster for me and just couldn't enjoy it to the fullest. The formulation to me feels very similar to Peripera's eyeshadow formula's (being under the same parent company), which also didn't impress me as well. I do feel that someone of lighter skintone than myself would enjoy it and get full use out of it.

Pure Glossy Tint (#02 Peach With a Touch of Spring & #05 Freshly Picked Dahlia). From this collection CLIO released x5 shades of their Pure Glossy Tint formula, all shades & formula are exclusive to the Floral Tea Garden collection. The x2 shades that I purchased are #02 which is a muted peachy coral shade and #05 is a is cool dusty mauvy shade.

The Pure Glossy Tint has a gel like texture that is lightweight and to me feels similar to Laka's Fruity Tint formula. it is very comfortable, hydrating on the lips & has great pigmentation, it covered my dark spots and gave my lips a nice wash of colour. The tinting effect is very immediate and also very effective & is long lasting throughout the day. The formula layers really well without feeling stringy or goopy on the lips and the shine is very nice, not overly glossy but has a nice reflectiveness to the finish. I notice that after sometime the formula sinks into the lip leaving the tint but also making the lips feel moisturized. Overall, I really really love this formula and it's becoming my current favourite top lip tint! It's abit sad that this formula is limited to this collection & is not part of their permanent range of products.

Kill Cover Fixer Cushion (04 Ginger23) For this collection CLIO released their Kill Cover Fixer Cushion in limited edition packaging. I actually have already tried and own this cushion in the original standard packaging but decided to get this because of the limited edition packaging!

The formula is very lightweight, has the consistency of a typical cushion foundation. The formula has medium to almost full coverage, is easy buildable, blendable & layers well without looking patchy. The cushion has a beautiful natural semi-matte finish that is still skin like and because it is matte, the formula does tend to oxidize but very slightly. The cushion evens out my skin tone but my dark spots & undereye area are slightly visible and still need some concealer. The formula of the cushion doesn't full set, leaving abit of a tacky feeling on the skin & I would still need to setting the face with a light veil of setting powder. I notice that this cushion can look cakey & powdery if too much setting powder is applied.

My skin tends to be very oily throughout the day and I notice that the cushion does transfer on a mask especially around my nose area but it's definitely not as bad as other foundations. As for the cushion puff, I appreciate the angle tip and makes applying the foundation easier.

Overall, it's a great cushion foundation that I recommend for those who like a lightweight matte cushion with great buildable coverage. The formula does lean towards oily skin types and may not be so suitable for very dry skin types.

CLIO is well know for their coverage in base makeup products and I do also agree. Out of all the cushions I tried & owned (25+) , CLIO is the best out of all the K-Beauty brands and their Kill Cover Fixer Cushion is one of my highest ranking.

I really love this collection from the concept, visuals / aesthetics to the packaging & colour story. The Floral Tea Garden collection is so stunning and is definitely one of the prettiest collections of spring 2023. I really love the lip tint formula and it is slowly becoming an obsession, but its so sad that it's formula is limited to this collection. My least favourite product that I kinda found to be abit disappointing was the eyeshadow palette, definitely not for me but still stunning. This collection even though wasn't perfect for me, really reignited my passion and curiosity for CLIO products & collections! Looking forward for more collections to come!

Hopefully you guys manage to pick it up, I purchased this collection from a reseller direct from Korea on the Shopee Malaysia platform. Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed it. If you liked it continue reading other post, or come back for more updates and blog posts!
