FLORTTE Nice to Meet Chu Collection.

FLORTTE Nice to Meet Chu Collection is one of Flortte's recent collection that was released in August 2022 of last year.

FLORTTE is a Chinese cosmetic brand founded in 2014 that offers a wide range of products such as lipsticks, eye shadows, foundations, etc. Flortte is owned by a company called Shenzhen Mira Cosmetics Co. Ltd., which is based in China. The company was founded in 2014, around the same time as Flortte, and is primarily focused on developing and manufacturing cosmetics and skincare products.

Shenzhen Mira Cosmetics Co., Ltd. claims to have state-of-the-art production facilities and utilizes advanced technology and equipment to ensure high-quality products. They also claim to prioritize environmental sustainability and have implemented eco-friendly practices in their manufacturing process. In addition to their own brand, Flortte, Shenzhen Mira Cosmetics Co., Ltd. also provides private label services for other companies, meaning they can manufacture and produce cosmetic and skincare products under different brand names for other businesses. Flortte's main distributor is The Colorist, who is a C-Beauty retailer similar to Olive Young in Korea. The Colorist, as I know does not own any cosmetic/skincare brand under them but instead consolidates popular / rising C-Beauty brands under one roof. Brands include FLORTTE, JudyDoll, ColorKey, AMORTALS, HOLDLIVE, etc.

FLORTTE I my opinion caters more to the younger crowd, majority of their packaging & collections are bright, fun & have a very youthful vibe to them. In this Nice to Meet Chu collection Flortte released x6 Quad Eyeshadow Palettes, x13 Jelly Lipsticks shades, x2 Pressed Powder, x12 Matte Lip Mud, x4 Eyeliners x10 Blusher Shades & x13 Lip Gloss/Tints shades.

I would classify them as an affordable brand where their prices are similar or comparable to Western/Asian drug store (Etude House / Judydoll / Peripera, Colorkey) but some of their formula's are similar to middle range Korean products. Concept & Packaging :

FLORTTE's Nice to Meet Chu Collection is such a pretty & romantic collection, that is perfect for spring season. The collection has a muted but also a romantic vibe, focusing on pinks, mauve, yellow, peachy tones that are all reminiscent of spring colours. All shades & packaging of the products have different floral arrangements on them, giving this entire collection a bit of uniqueness with every product.

The entire collection is also embellished with floral elements that follow suit with the entire scheme and gives it a very nice feminine touch. And the element of ripple effect plastic / transparency gives a elegant but dreamy element. Overall, I love the packaging & all the details & small elements of this collection. It's very cute & girly, some products like the eyeshadow palette & blush comes with a matching floral keychain which really adds a fun element. It also makes you one to buy & collect everything!

Products :

The images below are some of the products I purchased from the Collection/Brand.

Nice to Meet Chu 4-Color Eyeshadow Palette (#02 I Like You). FLORTTE released x6 quad eyeshadow palette for this collection that comes with a keychain based on the shade. The palettes consist of a mixture of Mattes & Shimmer Glitter formulas. I purchased 02 I Like You which mainly consist of pink mauve colour story. For this palette is has x3 Mattes & x1 Shimmer Glitter formula.

The formula of the Mattes are soft and silky but is also very powdery/chalky at the same time.

Surprisingly they have good pigmentation but the shades do need to be built-up to reach full opacity and I noticed that the shades in the pan does not translate to the actual color when applied on the skin. In the pan it can look brown-ish but on skin it translate to be mauv-ish with pink undertones. The matte formula layer & blend well but has abit of kickback but nothing major. Also, even though this palette leans to the cool tones, I did not have any issues with a shades changing in colour slightly and looking ashy or muddy.

The Shimmer Glitter shade is soft and has a putty like feel to them. All shade has tiny micro glitters scattered compactly together creating a base to the formula. The Shimmer Glitter shade in the pan can look champagne in color but on the skin it it actually a very stunning pink pearlescent shade with a gold undertone. The pigment is sheer but the shades can be layered & built-up for a nice sheen like effect. The formula layer & adhere very well even with a brush but in my opinion are applied best with finger tips.

I'm actually surprised by the quality of this small palette, I really like the all the shades and they all worked well for me. I also find the palette to be very versatile & neutral. The pigmentation of this palette to me is actually better than some of the K-Beauty palettes I own. I also don't mind that it's compact & very travel friendly, it's small enough to pop it into my purse or bag for easy touch ups. Definitely recommend!

Nice to Meet Chu Jelly Lipstick (#03 Greasy). From this collection FLORTTE released x13 shades of their Jelly Lipstick formula, all shades comes with their own floral packaging. The x2 shades that I purchased are #03 Greasy which is a peachy coral shade.

The Jelly Lipstick has a gel like texture that is lightweight and to me feels similar to Rom&nd's Glasting Melting Balm formula except that it is not as dense of heavy. The formula is very comfortable, hydrating on the lips but has sheer pigmentation, it wasn't able to covered my dark spots but instead gave my lips a subtle wash of colour. The formula layers well without feeling stringy or goopy on the lips and the shine is very nice, similar to Rom&nd's Glasting Melting Balm shine it has a very nice reflectiveness to the finish. The formula melts upon contact & sinks into the lip making the lips feel moisturized but also giving the lips a juicy plump look. I also noticed that the formula last long on the lips if not drinking or eating. Overall, I really like the formula but just wished it has abit more pigmentation & colour to this shade.

First Kiss Series Blush (#10 Caramel). For this collection FLORETTE released x10 blushes in really cute floral packaging that comes with a keychain based on the shade. I purchased the shade #10 Caramel which can be described as a muted / dusty coral shade that has tiny scattered gold micro-glitters and is also the darkest brightest shade out of the range. The shade Caramel looks so much darker in the display images as compared to the actual tone, which to me was very unexpected. The formulation is soft and smooth but also feels slightly powdery/talcy and the shade Caramel has sheen like finish. There's not much kickback which makes it nice to work with but also picks up well on a brush. The pigmentation is super super super super sheer in nature and the colour can be layered and built up without looking cakey and powdery. It's just it took me TONS of layers to even get a hint of color on my skintone, but after several several layers the blush gives a pretty flushed look. I also noticed that if applied traditionally by blending or sweeping the blush, the formula tends to buff out into nothing. I actually recommend patting it on with a dense brush to get better color payoff. After abit of time, the blush starts to fades and the colour does not last long on the cheeks. Overall, I actually don't recommending getting this blush unless you have porcelain fair skin or just want some cute cheap aesthetic makeup.

I really love this collection from the concept, visuals / aesthetics to the packaging & colour story of all the products. The Nice to Meet Chu collection is very pretty & I love that FLORTTE added keychains, it really gives a fun element. Overall, there was a hit, a miss & a I wish it could be better in terms of all the products I purchased. Favourite product & worth buying is hands down the quad eyeshadow palette, it not only performed well but also looks super cute! For the product I wish could be better is the Jelly Lipstick, formula is so nice! To me it's similar to the Rom&nd Glasting Melting Balm but with less pigment. Now for the miss, the blush dissapointed me big time, it's super super suuuuuuper sheer in pigmentation & didn't last long. Performance wise, not for me but it's cute though. TBH, not the best intro to FLORTTE product line & collection but there is a hidden gem amongst the product I purchased so I'm not too discouraged by the brand.

Hopefully you guys manage to pick it up, I purchased this collection from a reseller direct from Korea on the Shopee Malaysia platform. Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed it. If you liked it continue reading other post, or come back for more updates and blog posts!
