Innisfree Vintage Filter Collection

Updated: Apr 27, 2023

Vintage Filter Edition is Innisfree 2020 Fall/Autumn Collection. In this limited edition collection, Innisfree released x1 10pan Eyeshadow Palette, x1 3pan Blusher Palette, x1 Blur Pact, x2 Lipsticks, x1 3pan Highting Compact, x1 Mascara and x1 brush in this collection all inspired by the vintage style or period. I believe this collection is only available in the Asian Region since Innisfree US as of now only carries skincare products.

Concept & Packaging :

My second time purchasing a makeup collection from Innisfree, i've been recently been seeing around on social media I knew I needed it! For this collection the concept is based on vintage filter or style of feeling. To me it has an almost nostalgic or reminiscing feeling of the sweet good old days. Innisfree has always had a simplistic nature to their packaing, they play more with colour combination and font selection to give it the retro vintage vibe. They used elegant muted tones like pink and green paired with gold font and lettering all lending itself to vintage style. There is something very lovely and classic about this collection.

The images in this post are some of the products I purchased from the Collection.

Products :

Vintage Filter Eyeshadow Palette is a x10 pan eyeshadow palette that has various shades, the palette consist of x8 matte shades and only x2 shimmers/glitters formulation. This Vintage Filter Eyeshadow Palette captures x10 harmonious shades all specifically selected for the fall/Autumn season. This palettes colour story is perfect for this time of the year, the shades ranges from your warm to cool tone pinks to red and warm tone oranges to brown making this palette very versatile. I can definitely create a soft natural daytime eye look as well as a smoldering evening time look. Korean cosmetic eyeshadow standard and formulation differs from western standards. In this palette, the matte shadows are super soft and creamy but at the same time, they are slightly powdery and pigmentation is decent. There is abit of kickback, but I don't mind it as it can help brushes pick up products better. However, this is the kind of palette where it's better to build-up the pigmentation. As for the shimmers / glitters they are not the traditional blinding "sheen" formulation but rather a beautiful wash of glitters, again best to built-up the pigmentation. For the shimmers, I would recommend using fingers instead of a brush for better payoff. If you don't mind a little bit more of effort, I recommend this palette for the romantic colour story and pretty vintage packaging. (RM120)

Vintage Filter Lighter Trio is a 3pan pressed powder highlight. The packaging is so reminiscent of the KAJA Beauty Bento Eyeshadow Compact, but the Innisfree compact is slightly smaller in comparison. For me, I'm absolutely okay with the packaging, it has beautiful colour gradient and it's perfect for on the go and you get more variety for less space in my bag. The formula is not really considered a pressed powder, more to a cream in my opinion but sets like a powder. Nonetheless, it glides on the skin beautifully. There are x3 shades in this compact, first is a pale cream champagne shade, second is a medium bronze shade and the bottom is cool tone pink shade. All shade gives a subtle glow but can be layered for a blinding highlight effect. The only downside i feel when using the product is that once it sets, the formulation doesn't allow to blend/buff it out after that. (RM65)

Vintage Filter Smudge Blur Lipstick. Innisfree released x2 shades in a "smudge blur" formula in this collection. They released x2 shades Vanilla Pink (#1) and Milky Rosy (#2). From this collection, I purchased shade number #2 Milky Rosy which is a neutral mauve pink colour, which is better suited for medium to deeper skin tones. Formulation wise, these lipsticks have a smooth creamy texture, also feels very lightweight on the lips. It has a beautiful velvet finish to the formula that blurs/smudges well giving a very feathery look. Pigmentation is gorgeous and colour applies evenly. Love the slim packaging with the gold inner component gives a very sleek classy vibe to it. (RM38)

Vintage Filter Blusher Palette. For this collection, Innisfree released a blusher palette consisting of x3 matte powder blush in different shades (Dress, Candle & Cosy). The first shade Dress is a pale cool tone pink, its abit too light for my skintone, but it's a beautiful shade for those with lighter complexion. The second shade is Candle, it is a very pale muted pink peach shade, and the third shade is Cosy which is a muted dusty peach shade. All x3 shades have decent pigment, easily creating a natural flush of colour on the cheeks. The formula has a tiny of kickback but again great for brushes to pick up the pigment. Layers well over products and on top of itself, also blends beautifully. Overall a very good neutral every day blush palette! (RM70)

Vintage Filter Blur Pact. Innisfree released a touch-up powder in this collection. It is suppose to mattify along as smoothen out the complexion, controls unnecessary sweat and sebum giving the skin a vintage like filter throughout the day. This blur pact comes in x1 shade which is a pale creme colour. The formula is soft to the touch, and has little to no fall-out. Initially, i was very curious about the method of application, where the blur pact come with a sponge. But after use of it, I did find that for setting the entire face I would still prefer a brush but for throughout the day touch ups, i dont mind the sponge at all for selective areas of the face. As for the powder, it did definitely mattify, but I'm not sure if it helped to blur my overall complexion or help with the oil control on my skin. I like the handy-ness of compact, will definitely need to test this out more for a solid review. (RM43)

Another great collection by Innisfree, I always seem to love their current makeup collections by them. I feel like the brand doesn't over crowd the market with so much releases that it's overwhelming. Overall really love this collection, being it my second official Innisfree collection i would have to say it was very good. Innisfree has great powder fomulas, being it eyeshadow or blushes and this collection maintained the brands quality. The concept to me is just very darling, packaging has a sweet but vintage in feel great for the Fall/Autumn season!
