New Nuances : SISUA by Unleashia Cosmetics.

Unleashia is a Korea Vegan & Cruelty-Free makeup brand. They were established in 2018 but launched in 2019 with several products. UNLEASHIA is a compound word stemmed from ' unleash ' which means to release, and the perfect community 'utopia '. Unleashia implies a place between an ideal world and reality where you can discover your diverse charms trapped in your everyday life. Meaning Unleashia concept is to help customers / users to express their true beauty within an world that does no harm to the living & environment.

Unleashia strives to create harmony among people, animals, and plants on our planet. As an official member of PETA, they fight against animal testing and never use animal-derived ingredients. Unleashia's mission is to be Eco-Centric and also Eco-Conscious when creating, producing & releasing products. Their goal is to serve as a sustainable beauty brand not only using eco-friendly packaging materials but also creating biodegradable glitter. Unleashia Products has been featured in Allure Korea Best Beauty Picks!

Unleashia recently released a NEW DERMA line named SISUA, SISUA is derived from the word SISU, which means INNER STRENGTH. The makeup process, for SISUA, is a moment and opportunity to understand and explore oneself. In essence, this new Derma line from Unleashia (SISUA) aims to discover ”Me and myself“.

I would classify them to be a middle range brand where their prices are comparable to brans like Glint by VDIVOV, Mude, WAKEMAKE, CLIO, etc. If you are interested in knowing more on the products and my thoughts please continue reading!

Concept & Packaging :

The entire concept or branding of SISUA is based on the idea of discovering & exploring ones self, which to me sounds very similar & on par to Unleashia's branding as well. Both brands not only stay very true to their main mission which is to be an Eco-Centric / Eco-Conscious brand but also focuses on everything sparkly & glittery! SISUA on the other hand, really centers arounds healthy ingredients & clean glowy skin as oppose to just sparkly colours & makeup.

Packaging wise to me still maintains its artistic but sophisticated feel, the packaging is simple not overly done but has subtle details that really elevate & tie it as a whole. SISUA to me also plays the cute aesthetic very well, I love the names for their first x2 products (Butter Waffle) & it brings everything together. SISUA's Logo to me really follows suit with Unleashia's vibe as well, the font & style gives a very organic but chic / retro vibe!

Everything I received / purchased feels so nice to hold and are all aesthetically pleasing to look at. My favourite packaging would definitely be the blusher, for some reason it reminds me of the Ball Chair by Eero Aarnio. The shape & form paired with the font, gives me 60-70's vibes. And the waffle like imprints just add a cute/kawaii touch! Honestly, I can't wait to see more makeup releases from them!

Products :

* NOTE : All Products were sent as PR for a review and post. Even though the products were sent as PR all reviews are based on my HONEST opinion & experience with the products.

*PR - Butter Glow Stick is SISUA's first product to be released under this Derma line. The butter Glow Stick is a highlighting stick that is said to gives your complexion a healthy and natural glow. The Butter Glow Stick contains various plant-based oils like Calendula Oil, Coconut Oil, Borago Seed Oils, Marula (Sclerocarya Birrea) seed Oil & Sunflower Seed Oil that are moisturizing and calming to skin.

The formula of the Butter Glow Stick has a clear balm like consistency with finely milled rose gold pearl particles that meld into the formula & skin once applied. It is lightweight feeling & melts upon touch, giving the skin a non-greasy wet looking highlight. The Butter Glow Stick also leaves a soft silky feeling to the skin once the product sets / dries down.

TBH, I had a very hard time making the product work me as per the intended purpose & makes me think this product is not meant to be used on top of makeup. No matter how hard I tried (applied with sponge, fingertips, brush) , the Butter Glow Stick would pick up / disturb my makeup underneath making some areas very patchy. I actually really like the formulation and prefer to use this product as a primer instead of a highlighter.

To me this product actually excels more as a spot primer for areas on my face that are somewhat drier & I have been loving using it as that. Because of it's soft silky texture & it's moisturizing ingredients it really helps create a nice layer where makeup adheres well to. I also love that even though I apply it under my base makeup you can still see the healthy glow the highlighter stick gives to the skin. Overall, I really enjoy the formula & will continue to use it with my preferred method.

*PR - Butter Waffle Dough Blusher (N4 Rose Chocolate Mousse) is the second product from SISUA's Derma line. The Waffle Dough Blusher is a dough-like blusher that is said to be moisturizing so it blends into the skin seamlessly without giving a cakey look & it has a "Wet Coating System" that adheres on skin well without leaving a sticky residue. The Butter Waffle Dough Blusher contains various plant-based oils like Marula Seed Oil, Passion fruit (Passiflora Edulis) Seed Oil, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Oil & Calendula Officinalis Flower Oil that is moisturizing and calming to skin. Also all glitter in this products are Bio-degradable!

I was given the option to select x2 shades out of the range. One of the shade I selected is Rose Chocolate Mousse, which is a rose chocolate colour. This shade to me is also the deepest shade out of the range.

The formula off the bat is really interesting, a combination of a powder & cream but has a putty like consistency & it also contains tiny micro glitters scattered throughout. The closes formula to this, would be the MAC Glow Play Blush but to me the SISUA formula leans more towards the powder spectrum. The pigmentation is sheer in nature and definitely needs to be built-up, but the colour can be layered without looking cakey and powdery. The blush blends well, giving the cheeks a nice soft flushed look as if you are blushing within. The blush has a sheen like finish that brings a healthy glow to the cheeks. Due to it's unique formula, there is no fallout but I found that the product can be abit hard to pick up & dispense onto the skin. Out of all the methods I tried (fingers, sponge, brush), my preferred and best application for this blusher would be to use a dense flat brush (similar to applying cream products). The blushers also lasted a solid 5-7hours before I saw any significant fading.

Overall, I really like the formula & finish of the Butter Waffle Dough Blusher. Rose Chocolate Mousse is a very pretty shade that I think will suit a range of skintones & is also my preferred shade out of the x2 shades I selected. I do wish that the formula had abit more pigmentation to them & I hope they come out with more shades.

*PR - Butter Waffle Dough Blusher (N2 Apricot Sherbet) is the second product from SISUA's Derma line.

One of the shade I selected is Apricot Sherbet, which is a peach coral colour. This shade to me is also the one of the lighter shades in the range.

The formula has the same unique formula as the other shade I selected (Rose Chocolate Mousse) but the pigmentation is alot more sheerer compared to other shade. I would have to layer a good amount to really see the colour come through on my light medium skintone & I do think that this shade would be best suited for fair to light skintone. Nevertheless, this shade still gives the cheeks a nice soft flushed look as if you are blushing within. This shade Apricot Sherbet is a very pretty shade & I love layering this with Rose Chocolate Mousse shade for a brightening effect.

Unleashia really impressed me as a brand and I was so excited when they announced their Derma line SISUA. Overall, I really liked all the products I tried even if they were not for their intended use. Both the Glow Stick & Blusher will be on my "top shelf" for continuous usage & easy reaching.

I really commend SISUA for not only staying true to their main mission of being cruelty-free & Eco-Centric but also commend them for creating new products with interesting / unique formulas that all have skin beneficial ingredients. Again, I'm really looking forward to seeing more from not only Unleashia but now SISUA as well!
