Rom&nd X Line Friends (Corp) Collection.

Rom&and X Line Friends Collection is Rom&nd most recent collection that was released in collaboration with (selected) Line Friends. Line is a Japanese instant messaging app that has a great popularity due to it's fun and funny characters created as stickers/emoji's, very similar to Kakao friends in Korea. To me really what makes them popular is the ample amount of emotions & feelings they can capture that feels so relatable at times. Line has created really fun characters that are now seen as icons/celebrities such a Hello Kitty, that they have had other huge collaboration with such as Brawl Stars (Mobile Game), Roy6 (Chinese Idol), BTS (Korean Idol Group) and even have an official retail store in New York selling all their merchandise!

In this "Tiny but Mighty" collection Rom&nd released x3 individual Quad Eyeshadow Palettes, x2 individual mini Blushers, x5 mini Lip Tint, & x1 Limited Set (comprising of x1 Quad Eyeshadow Palette, x1 mini Quad Eyeshadow Palette x1 mini Lip Tint, & x1 Full Size Lip Tint). So this collection really represent something nostalgic to me and I'm so happy that Rom&and released this cute collection!

Concept & Packaging :

Such fun & bright collection, Rom&nd to me did such a wonderful job with the whole scheme and colour tone for this collaboration. For this collection, it mainly focus's on x2 characters from the Line Friends universe, Brown (Bear) & Sally (Chick). The packaging is set using light nude browns, bright yellow, muted orange & soft crème colours to convey both the characters. The collection is bright but also very muted giving it such a fun chilled-out vibe. Having the characters depicted on the packaging really makes it cute and kawaii. I also don't mind that some of the items are mini sized, I feel like it follows the concept "Tiny But Mighty" very well and is also a great "tester" set to introduce Rom&nd products to the Line Friends lover.

Better Than Eyes (L02 Cozy Brown) Rom&nd released a x3 individual quad eyeshadow palette which for this collaboration but also x1 quad eyeshadow palette exclusive to the set. Since I purchased the set, I will be reviewing shade Cozy Brown (L02). The colour story of each palette really suits the characters they are based on, all the shades in this palette is a cool tone taupe or brown matte shade. The formula is super soft and smooth but has abit of kickback using a brush. The pigmentation is not bad but colours do need to be built up, but the blend is so nice and smooth where I can get a very airbrushed look. I do notice that the shades do fade over time and the wear time especially for the lighter shades aren't that good. Honestly I do really like the all the shades and find them very wearable for alot of skin tones, and great for those who are looking for simple everyday makeup. Nowadays I really do gravitate more to this kind of makeup and look, since I'll be at home most of the days. Final thoughts are, it's a decent palette with sheer buildable shades for a natural everyday look.

Better Than Eyes *Mini (L01 Shining Sally) For the Line Friends Collaboration Rom&nd released x1 exclusive mini eyeshadow palette which is exclusive only to the set. The colour story of the palette is inspired by the character Sally, in the palette their are x2 Glitter Shades and x2 matte glitter shades. All shades very a cool tone to them that go very well with Cozy Brown (L02) palette, but adding some muted pop of colours and sparkle to the entire collection. The matte glitter shades have a matte base with dispersed/scattered glitter throughout the pigment. The formula has decent pigment very similar to the matte formulas in the L02 palette but has harder and dryer to the touch. They blend very well but the scattered glitters don't stay in place and create so much fallout around the eye area and not really my kind of formula. The glitters on the other hand have x2 different formulas, the light shades is cool tone yellow gold that is soft to the touch. It layers well on top of other shadows but best to apply with finger tips. It doesn't have much pigment in my opinion but does give the lids a very nice sheen. The last glitter shade is a chunky gel glitter formula. The shade is very pretty with a pink iridescent shade. The gel formula is not really for me, it set quickly which is great but after is sets the glitter tend to easily fall and don't stick to the lids anymore. Layering more on just creates more of a mess for me and at the end of the day I just have glitter fallout all around my eyes. Overall all, just an ok palette I did like the lightest shades and the formulation, I would use it to give a nice wash of glitter on the lids or inner corner area for a natural highlighted look. It is also a fun cute mini palette that does compliment the Cozy Brown Palette.

Better Than Cheek *Mini (L07 Pear Chip) For this collection Rom&nd released x2 blushes, both shades are existing colours from their Better Than Cheek line just repackaged in a mini size compact with limited edition Line Friends packaging. I purchased shade Pear Chip (L07) which can be described as a dusty muted coral shade. The formulation is soft and smooth but also feels very powdery/talcy, because of this I do experience alot of kickback. The pan size does make it hard to pick up product but once I get the right size brush, it does pick up and blend well. The pigmentation is abit lacking and sheer, but the colour can be layered and built up without looking cakey and powder. Because it blends well, it does give my cheeks a nice flushed look. Overall, a good blush for a good price. It makes me want to try other products from Rom&nd blush range.

Juicy Lasting Tint (L01 Sally Mandarin *Mini & L02 Maple Brown). From this set Rom&nd released x1 Full size and x1 Mini size lip tint, both shades are limited edition exclusive to the set and Line Friends collaborations. The x2 shades in this set are Maple Brown which is brick red shade while Sally Mandarin is a yellow orange peach shade. The formula is sheer in pigmentation, with a slight shine finish. The formula and texture did surprise me, normally when it think of tints, I think of watery formulas but for Rom&nd tints they a gel like texture which doesn't sink into the fine lines of my lips. It's lightweight feeling and non-sticky giving the lips a nice wash of colour. Overall, I really like this formula very much, it's not drying to the lips and gives a nice natural wash of colour. Will definitely check out more shades from this range.

I really love this collection and I can see myself using majority of it. Looking at this collection it really brings back some good memories of when I used Line to communicate with my friends back in secondary school/college. It was honestly really fun using it and enjoyed it very much and fell in love with the characters. Overall, it's a very nice introduction to the Rom&nd Brand and their products and great for those who love Line Friends and makes me want to explore more from Rom&nd!
