Innisfree Jeju Color Picker 2020 Collection

Updated: Oct 17, 2020

Jeju Color Picker is Innisfree 2020 Spring Collection. In This limited edition collection, Innisfree released x1 9pan Eyeshadow Palette, x1 Luminizer, x1 Mineral Powder, x3 Tint Sticks and x1 nail set in this collection all inspired by the iconic Cherry Blossom. I believe this collection is only available in the Asian Region.

This year I believe several cosmetic brands / company have chosen the classic Cherry Blossom / Sakura as the inspiration to their Spring Collection. For those who aren't familiar with Innisfree, they are considered a Korean roadshop cosmetic brand that emphasizes on natural and clean ingredients all derived from the wonderful island of Jeju. Innisfree annually releases a collection call Jeju Color Picker project that was created to showcase and celebrate the vibrant colours of Jeju Island through its makeup collection. This year, innisfree Jeju Color Picker has been inspired by the colours of the Jeju cherry blossom tree that blooms in spring.

Concept & Packaging :

My first time purchasing any Jeju Color Picker collections from Innisfree, but the first time I saw it in store I knew I needed it! To be honest before this, I never knew Innisfree had this annual collection. But after doing my makeup research, I absolutely love the idea of using the colours of Jeju island as a colour story to set the mood and tone for the entire collection. Very similar concept to what Pantone does annually with their "Colour of the Year" thing. Absolutely genius! Fell in love instantly with the entire 2020 Cherry Bloosom collection, what can I say I'm a sucker for anything Sakura / Cherry Blossom. Overall the packaging uses a pale light pink colour overall to give it that soft sakura feel.

The images in this post are some of the products I purchased from the Collection.

Products :

Cherry Blossom Eye Palette is a x9 pan eyeshadow palette that has various shades ranging from mattes, shimmers to glitters. This Cherry Blossom Eyeshadow Palette captures x9 harmonious shades all specifically selected from the life cycle of the cherry blossom bulb. This palettes colour story is perfect for spring, the shades ranges from your warm to cool tone pinks making this palette very versatile. I can definitely create a soft glowing natural eye look as well as a warm smoldering evening time look. Korean cosmetic eyeshadow standard and formulation differs from western standards. In this palette, the matte shadows are super soft and creamy but at the same time, they are slightly powdery and pigmentation is a tad bit lacking. However, this is the kind of palette where it's better to build-up the pigmentation. As for the shimmers / glitters they are not the traditional blinding formulation but rather a beautiful wash of glitters, again best to built-up the pigmentation. If you don't mind a little bit more of effort, I recommend this palette for the romantic colour story and pretty pink packaging. (RM115)

Cherry Blossom Luminizer is a pressed powder highlight. My favourite packaging out of the entire collection, the deep dish paired together with the the pink clear cover for some reason to me gives off this soft elegant sophisticated look to this cheap plastic compact. The formula is not really considered a pressed powder, more to a cream in my opinion but sets like a powder. Nonetheless, it glides on the skin beautifully. The Cherry Blossom Luminizer by Innisfree is cool tone pink shade that almost looks like silver, it gives a subtle glow but can be layered for a blinding highlight effect. (RM46)

Cherry Blossom No-Sebum Mineral Powder is Innisfree's best-selling mineral powder in limited edition packaging and scent. Their No-Sebum mineral powder is a sebum control powder that leaves the skin smooth and matte. It's super finely milled and very lightweight, the downside is that it can often leave flashback when taking photos and has tiny glitters mixed in with the powder. Other than that it's a great touch up powder and I really recommend for those who have oily skin like me, it is a must try! (RM28)

Cherry Blossom Lip Tinted Stick. Innisfree released x3 shades in a "tint stick" formula in this collection. Like how normally Korean cosmetic brands do, they don't name shades but instead they number it. From this collection, I purchased shade number #1 and #3, shade #1 is a light nude orange color while shade #3 is a coral pink colour. Formulation wise, these lip tint sticks are very similar to the Bobby Brown Crush Lip Color. Creamy but also pigmented and best part leaves a beautiful tint to the lips once it fades throughout the day. Love the slim packaging gives a very sleek elegant vibe to it. (RM36)

Cherry Blossom Nail Set is a nail polish set that Innisfree released for their Jeju Color Picker 2020 Collection. This set comes with x2 limited edition nail polish and x1 limited edition Cherry Blossom nail stickers. Shade number #1 is a sheer coral confetti polish while shade #2 is a pale pink shimmer very similar to the luminizer in this collection. Generally Innisfree has very nice nail polish formulas for a very affordable price, but what really sold me was the nail stickers that came together in this set. Nail stickers are such a simple way to spice up the look of your nails but even better why not it be Cherry Blossom stickers! So yes, a must buy for me and I love the nail set so much. So many ways to create gorgeous looking Cherry Blossom nails. (RM42)

No surprise here, I knew I would love this collection the second I laid my eyes on it. But surprisingly what I love the most out of the entire collection is not what I would expect. My favourite item from the 2020 Jeju Color Picker collection is the nail set! It definitely embodies the Sakura / Cherry Blossom, not only in the shades but also in the texture as well. Overall a beautiful collection, really recommend! Looking forward to see next years Jeju Color Picker, I've become a fan and collector of this annual collection.

Hopefully you guys manage to pick it up, and love it as much as I do! if not, hopefully you can still pick it up at you local Innisfree or Online at Lazada / Hermo (in Malaysia).
